Call for Submissions:
As you may know, Peter Brown retired after 43 years at Mercer last spring. This past March, the department held a conference in Peter’s honor which reflected his breadth of interests. Conferees presented two types of papers: those concerning topics in academic philosophy; and those concerning real-world applications relevant to Peter’s long history of community development and social change.
Over the next year, we would also like to compile a festschrift--a book of academic papers written to celebrate Peter and his work. The book would not be completed until later in 2016, and we would not expect submissions until January 1, 2016. Like the conference, the festschrift would almost certainly address a range of social and philosophical topics. Unlike the conference, however, all work would need to take the form of a written essay (though it need not take the form of a scholarly essay!). You may submit to the volume even if you did not present at the conference.
If you are interested in submitting a piece to the festschrift, then please keep the above submission date (1/1/16) in mind. Secondly, please let us know some time between now and the end of the summer; it will help us to begin to think about the shape of the volume if we have a rough idea of how many people are interested. You may direct your email to Dr. Kevin Honeycutt: firstname.lastname@example.org
