Dr. David C. Leonard was instrumental in establishing the MSTCO program at Mercer. His dedication to the technical communication field and vision for our program were key factors in the program's success today.

David C. Leonard Scholarship

Students in the MSTCO program are eligible to apply for the David C. Leonard Scholarship. This award is given in memory of Dr. Leonard, one of the founders of Mercer’s MSTCO program.

Throughout his life, Dr. Leonard dedicated himself to the education of future technical communicators, believing technical communication to be a key profession in our increasingly technological world. Dr. Leonard passed away in March 2002 after a long battle with cancer. This scholarship is a fitting tribute to a man whose commitment to the technical communication field and to his students remains commendable.

The scholarship was funded by current and former students, faculty, family, and friends, and is available beginning Fall 2005. To apply, save the scholarship application to your computer and complete the form fields. (The form is a Word file in which you may type directly into the form fields). Applications should be emailed to Dr. George Hayhoe and must be received by September 30.
