MUURMaC is a conference for students and faculty interested in undergraduate mathematics' research. It includes 15 minute talks by undergraduates, a plenary speaker, a friendly math competition, and a panel discussing REU experiences. In addition, MUURMaC occurs in conjunction with the MAA State Lunch.
MUURMaC is hosted by Mercer University and we hope you will come. The conference is open to all mathematicians and students interested in undergraduate research.
Our plenary speaker this year is Dr. Michael Dorff from Bringham Young University. Dr. Dorff is well known for his involvement in undergraduate research. He is the director of the BYU summer mathematics REU and the director of the Center for Undergraduate Research in Mathematics (CURM). In 2010 the MAA awarded him the prestigious "Deborah and Franklin Tepper Haimo Award" for distinguished college or university teaching.
MUURMaC will be held on the Macon campus of Mercer University. Detailed directions are available on the travel page.
This year's conference will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2013.
Interested in giving a talk? Great! Only students, and Dr. Dorf, will be permitted to give talks at this conference. To give a talk, please select this option when you register. Then submit your abstract to Dr. Reinkoester by emailing it to email@example.com. Please use subject "Abstract". We will accommodate as many talks as possible. The deadline for submitting an abstract is January 28.
If you have questions not answered on this site, please contact Dr. Jeremiah Reinkoester at Mercer University.
