Faculty-Led Programs

Faculty-Led study abroad programs are an important part of our departmental offerings. The following list gives an overview of the most recent programs:

2012:

  • May 20 - June 20. Dr. Yosálida C. Rivero-Zaritzky and Dr. Fernando Palacios directed a program in Sevilla, España. (See pictures)

2011:

  • May 28 - June 19. Dr. Scott Nash and Dr. Achim Kopp directed a Mercer on Mission program in Ancient Corinth and Athens, Greece. The program included excavation work at the Roman baths in Isthmia. (See pictures)
  • June 24 - July 23. Dr. Lydia Masanet and Dr. Fernando Palacios directed a program in Sevilla, España.

2009:

  • May 25 - June 27. Dr. Edward Weintraut directed a program in Marburg, Germany.
  • May 30 - June 21. Dr. Scott Nash and Dr. Achim Kopp directed a Mercer on Mission program in Ancient Corinth and Athens, Greece. The program included excavation work at the Roman baths in Isthmia. (See pictures)
  • June 25 - July 24. Dr. Lydia Masanet and Dr. Fernando Palacios directed a program in Santander, Spain. (See pictures)

2008:

  • May 14 - June 14. Dr. José Pino and Dr. Yosálida C. Rivero-Zaritzky directed a program in San José, Costa Rica. (See pictures)
  • May 25 - June 16. Dr. John Dunaway and Professor Randy Harshbarger took a group to Senegal as part of a Mercer on Mission program. They spent a few days in Dakar studying the local language (Woloff) & Senegalese culture. They also spent one weekend for R&R in Saint-Louis (old colonial capital), but the rest of the time they were in the Senegal River Delta of northern Senegal in small villages (primarily Ross Bethio), helping with productivity among rice farmers. 2007:

  • May 23 - June 21. Dr. Lydia Masanet and Dr. Fernando Palacios directed a study abroad program in Santander, Spain.
