Online Writing Lab

The Online Writing Lab (OWL) is staffed by professional tutors who will assist with student writing for Penfield College of Mercer University undergraduate courses and other general writing tasks submitted by Regional Academic Center and Atlanta campus students. Appointments are not required. The OWL is accessible through the Blackboard Course Management System and through the Moodle learning platform. To obtain access to the service students must self-enroll in the OWL in either Blackboard or Moodle (self-enroll instructions are provided in the FAQ section of this page). Successfully registered students will find the Online Writing Lab course listed among their other registered courses. Blackboard and Moodle allow students to submit papers and receive comments from our professional writing tutors, all within a secure, password-protected system.

Tutor reviews are normally completed within 24 hours; responses for papers longer than 6 pages may require a full 48 hour review period.
